Today, Dawn Wotapka did an article for Wall Street Journal Online . The reason for the article - Habitat for Humanity has recently been ranked as one of the nation's top 10 builders for the first time in a closely watched industry list compiled by Builder Magazine!
So how did we do it? We were able to accomplish this because of volunteers, generous building product and monetary donations, as well as attractive loans coupled with the fact that Habitat homeowners are required to put in a predetermined amount of "sweat equity" hours. Habitat homeowners receive mortgages with 0% interest rates on homes that are sold at cost.
