This year we celebrate the 5th anniversary of National Women Build Week, sponsored by Lowe's, which challenges women in every state to devote at least one day between May 5 and 13 to creating affordable housing in their communities.
The theme this year is "The Build Generations" which reflects Habitat Women Build's goal to recruit and train women volunteers, as well as welcome the next generation of Habitat women builders - young women ages 18-24 - to help support our mission to create affordable housing.
We were very excited to have Kristina Guerrero from E! News, her mother Delma and sister Amanda with us during our build day in Long Beach. Delma and Amanda flew from Washington state to join us building and we were so thrilled to have them.
