Blog: Sue Jorgensen shares her VIP
Experience with Lisa LoCicero and Dominic Zamprogna on the set of ABC’s General
Hospital. Sue was the winning
bidder for the VIP Experience through CharityBuzz.
I recently traveled to Los Angeles to attend
General Hospital's Fan Club Weekend. It's an event that is held every
July. While there a friend and I had the opportunity to have lunch with
two of the soap opera's actors, Lisa LoCicero
and Dominic Zamprogna. It had started out as a get together for cocktails
and appetizers, but due to some heavy filming days on the set, it turned
into lunch at the studio. And what an experience that turned into!
We were escorted down the hall to the green room to
wait to for Lisa and Dominic while they were filming and as we passed the
make up room I took a quick peak to see who was inside. Standing in the door was the lovely Jane
Elliot, and standing right behind her was somebody I never thought I would see
in person, Anthony Geary!!! (Part of the famed Luke and Laura.) I
knew from that moment on that this was going to be a magical day.
We saw and even met some of the actors whom
I have enjoyed most throughout all my years of watching General Hospital.
We saw John J. York, Maurice Benard, Kristina Wagner, Kirsten
Storms, Kelly Sullivan, Bradford Anderson, Rebecca Herbst, Kelly Monaco
and the other half of the Luke and Laura duo, Genie Francis.
Sitting in the green room watching some of these
soap veterans filming was beyond amazing. Watching them on TV every day
is one thing, but to see them in person doing their craft is another. It
was an experience that I will never forget. I cannot wait to see the
final product when those episodes air in about 4 weeks.
I owe a huge thank you to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Jo-An Turman, the
people at General Hospital, and especially to Lisa and Dominic for being so
wonderful to their fans and spending such quality time with us. It was a
very special day and I will cherish those memories for a lifetime.
Dreams do come true.
